HELLO!! SAIN UU?!

On Wednesday we had a big meeting come up on Saturday. So I let my English school know that I probably wouldn't be able to teach Saturday. Then we got a text back, can you teach tomorrow instead? So we decided that seemed like the only fair thing right?! BUT!! We already had appointments and meetings scheduled so we would have to cancel those UNLESS We found two people to come with us for about 7 hours Which is a LOT of time to ask for. So we kept pondering what to do and then met with investigator and had the name of a member come to mind, then after that lesson we called her and said she totally COULD!!!! and then we found another person to do a split with us!!! Seriously it was a miracle to us! What can be better than teaching the gospel and English at the same time! (: shout out to tuvshee and anujin!! y'all are the best! #miraclemoment

One of my English students is too funny. Often I ask him a question about the activity we are doing and if he doesn't know the answer he will glare at the board like it's an enemy and maybe it will go away if he stares at it long enough, but hey, then he usually figures it out! So if you're stuck and don't know what to do just glare at it and it will all work out! (:

Advice of the week, read the Book of Mormon, Feel the spirit, it will change your life. I promise! (:

We are sitting in sacrament meeting listening to a speaker giving his talk and one of the girls drew a picture of the speaker and went up and gave it to him during his talk. It was too cute! Then the speaker said man that's pretty good! looks just like me! But I was thinking about it she wanted to do it to brighten his day! It was her way of showing him and others God's love. Isn't that why we go to church?! to be strengthened! (: #Godslovecomeinmanyways #goBrightenSomeonesday

I taught my companion T49 texting this week! She was amazed and loved it! #joyinthelittlethings

Mongolia is warming up a little (: I mean I wouldn't mind if it warmed up a bit faster :P but lets be real!
Life is Good! & Mongolia is great!

Tsagaan Sar!!

Tsagaan Sar!! (Mongolian New Year)
Traditional table setting for Tsagaan Sar

My companion and I with President Benson, some of his kids and a Mongolian Family.
All dressed up in our traditional Mongolian deel.
Total buuz count for the week was: 63 Yum! (if you ask some elders they did a better job than mine count ;P)

We were NEVER hungry this last week :P

One grandma at a house we visited this week, thought my companion's Mongolian was REALLY good!! because she thought she was an American :P haha!! no but really her Mongolian is way good! :P

President Benson told my companion her visa came this week and my companion afterward my companion goes "wait what did president Benson say?" SHE THOUGHT IT WAS A DREAM! (: #nope My companion is gonna make it to America in the next few weeks or so! #woo

Sister Wilkins and I went and helped clean the church this week, I'm not sure I've ever seen the chapel look sooooo clean!! Working for something definitely makes you appreciate it more (:

Then Sister Wilkins and I went to an investigators house this week, and I ask Sister Wilkins do you know how to say her house looks nice? and Sister Wilkins goes "I don't know, all I know how to say is that Jesus Christ died and was resurrected!" yup! #stilllearning!

I'm here in Mongolia to tell people this gospel is awesome!

God protects us in weird ways: We were walking to the busy stop to go to my school and we always take this shortcut behind some apartments and through this gate that's always open. But that day the gate was closed and we had to go back around which slowed us down getting to the bus stop and getting to my school on time.  So then we are walking to the bus stop and we still are a little ways a way but we see the bus that we need to get on drive by, but we weren't close enough that we could run to the bus stop and catch it. So we catch the next bus and as we are going to my school there was a lot of traffic and then we see the bus we were sad we didn't catch had gotten in a car accident. I hoped no one got hurt, but I think God locked the gate that morning so we would get on the next bus. (:

So I decided a successful day is helping one person, We were walking near our house and the sidewalk ends at this one part and we see this cute little lady in her fancy fur coat, standing on the sidewalk waiting for someone to help her. I'm grateful for those moments when we can be someone's little angel for the day, even if it is only to cross the road safely.

Want to know how to make a missionaries day? It's to give them good leftovers to take home!! Yum! #shoutouttoCharlieandMart

My companion and I prayed for our goals this week and we had a total of 11 lessons this week we usually do not reach that many lessons!! It was a miracle and I know God's hand helped us meet with those people because we first asked for it.

I love sincere prayers of investigators, they change me and help me to know that prayers really can be answered. That's whys I'm here in Mongolia to tell people this gospel is awesome!

This week was good even though it was also very hard! but God helps us through it all! (:

I know Jesus Christ lives and loves us

HELLO!

So I wish I had a good story to go along with it, but the craziest thing that happened this week was... dun dun DUN!!!!
BROKE THE FAVORITE GLASSES THIS WEEK... ): there was a little bit of mourning for the poor things, maybe super glue will fix it? Super glue fixes everything right?!
here's the story, its cold, the finish was coming off because its cold, I leaned on a rail and they were in my pocket and we hear a snap, there they go... ): #sadness

I was making breakfast this week and I was frying some sausage and I realized it reminded me of the smell of grandma's house! So shout out to Grandma Schirmer for always making bacon when we come! #shoutout #yum #mygrandmaIsAwesome!

We were walking to my school this week, there was this adorable girl walking in her pink winter jumpsuit and pink hat she was probably 7 coming back from the grocery store, swinging her grocery bag while walking but the best part was her cheeks were the same color pink as her cute jumpsuit because it was a chilly Friday morning! #pinkhat #pinkcheeks #pinkjumpsuit

I'm making my students write books in our class! I hope that turns out good! and one students after my class was over, gave me a picture, it was a picture of me and she wrote my name in Mongolian script. AND I LOVED IT! but little girl next time lets learn some English instead of drawing pictures, but shes too cute!

I learned something new this week, Jesus Christ is God's only begotten Son, because Heavenly Father was his literal birth father with Mary as his birth mother. Then that means Jesus Christ created this world before he had a body. So I thought that was very interesting. I know Jesus Christ lives and loves us, and if I've learned anything from my mission, I feel like I've learned that!

Anyways, another week done and now its February! whoa! Crazy!

Put God first and it will all work out!

This week was pretty normal. burned, met with people. taught lots of English. fell on some ice. had some awesome lessons. had spiritual studies and worked hard.  That's a pretty good week to me (:

Things I learned this week:

  • Winter doesn't like me.  I have two bald sections on my arms from the cuff of my coat rubbing on my arm so much :P
  • When you don't want to work, work harder, then God can bless you. #sawtheblessingsafterfreakingoutalittlebit
  • It's bad luck in Mongolian culture to name a child before it's born #dontdothat
  • Wanna learn a language really well? Watch TV shows in that language.  I have a new student in my English class who knows perfect English from watching TV!  When we were singing songs in our class this week he even told me I sing like I am from the 80's! He doesn't even know what that means! :P #thankskid (we should have just watched TV shows in the MTC)
  • The things that are of the most significance in this life are family and the gospel, since that's what you can take to Heaven.
Random thought of the week: It really would be entertaining to have a video of all the times I've fallen on my mission (:

Yeah, it really was a pretty simple week.  Although one of our investigators is golden and is progressing on her own even though she's busy. It really takes our own desire to find these things out for ourselves.  But what's important is that she makes time for the gospel, that's really how God blesses us, when we first make time for Him and then let everything else fall in place.

Have a great week!  Put God first and it will all work out! (:

IT'S COLD!!!

OKAY ITS NOT FUNNY ANYMORE..... IT'S COLD! #-40

No, but really it's wayyy cold! We met with an investigator last night. So afterwards we are standing at this deserted bus stop and waiting for the bus and there we were dancing or swaying back and forth in order to not completely freeze. Then when we finally got close enough to home we starting running because it was just toooo cold. Our toes were frozen and our hands were frozen with gloves on. Apparently this week it's supposed to be super cold... ‪#‎manyarecalledbutfewarefrozen‬

MIRACLE SUNDAY!!! WE HAD 9 INVESTIGATORS in the investigator class on Sunday! Whereas the past few weeks it's only been 0-3 investigators!!! It was awesome, then we were also translating it into English for two of our English speaking investigators. Super cooll! smile emoticon ‪#‎feelingblessed‬

Learned a new word this week: olzlogdmoluudinhruugaa
it means to take a prisoners side on something, but you pretty much can't use it in a sentence. and I can hardly say it anyways it's soo long.‪#‎learningMongolian‬ ‪#‎itsSometimesScary‬

One of my boys in English, after class with his friend, asked me if liked to ice skate and of course I reply Yeah! I love ice skating! and then he asks if my companion and him and his friend want to go ice skating unfortunately I had to tell him no. Maybe my students are learning English too well!

anyways its cold.
but we are happy!
and things are good
and buh zuils saihan bolno. or it will all work out!

Look there's a Russian! Nope it's Sister Bennett

We are on the bus on Friday and this little girl comes and sits by us and she whispers to her dad, while pointing at me "Daddy, look there's a Russian behind you!" and then dad tells her yeah but don't point, and she says a little louder "no daddy LOOK there IS a Russian behind you!"and my companion leans over to the little girl and tells her "no she's Mongolian, she speaks Mongolian. Ask her!"and she got really nervous and pulled her scarf over her face and she told her dad "No I think she's Russian" and the dad said "Nope, she said she's Mongolian", this poor little girl was getting way confused but as she got off the bus we told her I was American and she gave me a high five too cute! #tenderbusmoments

This week I did an exchange with Sister Peterson and it was a crazy day.
Let's start with that morning, we studied and prepped a few lessons and one of the lessons was called "it will all work out!" Then when we are headed to our lessons an hour or so later and we get a call saying they can't find Sister Bullwinkle and Sister Kofoed! We tried to contact the sisters and unfortunately the worst came to mind that they had gotten in a taxi trying to go to teach English and were headed out to the countryside or something and their phone wasn't working. So there was a little freaking out going on :P and then we get a text as we are about to go teach this lesson and we found out they found the sisters right where they were supposed to be, at their school. Then we teach this lesson on "it will all work out!" and we felt a little silly... even if they were on their way to the countryside #itprobablywouldhaveallworkedout

Later, we are on a bus, the bus gets a little more full where a lot of the handholds are taken, then we see this hand reach around and is hugging Sister Peterson since she couldnt reach any of the handdolds, it just made me think of the quote from Russell M Nelson "hold on to the missionaries, they can help you" well maybe that wasn't exaclty the quote :P #gottadowhatyougottado

Church!!! Can we call this MIRACLE SUNDAY!! We had two investigators at church and two less actives! It was so awesome and definitely a miracle! God brought them to church. Then in our investigator class we had an only English speaking investigator and a Mongolian, so our lesson was half in English and half in Mongolian, and we were translating ourselves it was crazy but awesome! (: #miracles

It's freezing (-33 F) yes, but the work is doing better! Have a great week!

Frozen eyelashes!

The missionaries have to wear these masks in the winter.
The air quality is very bad because coal and such is being burned in the ger districts.
